Emily and Dan’s rustic, simple and relaxing day at Stennack Farm
Emily and Dan wanted a rustic barn wedding, and they were blown away by our barn and the beautiful views we have here at Stennack.
“We loved how relaxing the whole environment was and could imagine our friends and family socialising on the lawn and in the barn. We also loved the fact that we would be able to get married outside, which, fortunately, the weather allowed us to do on the day.”
Accommodation – making their day even more special
The added benefit of having onsite accommodation for two nights really sealed the deal for them too. Having their closest family and friends with them in the build-up to their wedding day made it even more special.
We absolutely loved getting everyone together on Friday to get the barn ready.

Wedding day theme: rustic, simple and relaxing
Emily and Dan wanted their wedding to be rustic, simple and, above all, relaxing.
“We wanted our guests to feel completely at ease and enjoy every minute of the day. We knew that we could achieve this at Stennack from the moment we first visited. We used simple table decorations and flowers to achieve our rustic theme, but for the most part, we let the natural beauty of the barn and the surroundings speak for itself.”
St Ives Bridal Boutique
Emily’s dress was by Made with Love and was purchased at St Ives Bridal Boutique.
“I saw the dress online and knew it was the one straight away and I was delighted to find a shop in Cornwall that stocked it!”
The Groom and Groomsmen
Dan and his groomsmen wore waistcoats from Marc Darcy paired with chinos. Their outfits were relaxed and comfortable, and the tweed-style waistcoats were really in keeping with their rustic theme.
Wedding Catering by Keith Terry
Keith and his team produced an amazing menu for their wedding day! After the ceremony, it all kicked off with canapés; Emily and Dan chose a delicious selection – bruschetta, mini lamb tacos, pea, feta, mint crostinis, and mackerel pate. All enjoyed by everyone. For their main meal, Emily and Dan chose lemon and herb woodfired chicken, roasted garlic potatoes and a selection of salads. The food was served on platters so everyone got to dig in and help themselves.
“It was all absolutely delicious! We loved how relaxed this made the day and it got everyone on the tables talking!”
For dessert, they chose to have a selection of cakes from Rad Bakes that their guests could help themselves to. Carrot, lemon and raspberry, chocolate fudge and salted caramel cakes were very well received by thie guests. Everyone loved having a choice.
“All of our suppliers were amazing and made our day so special! Stone Roots really stole the show in the evening and got absolutely everybody up on the dance floor. They played a fantastic variety of songs and created such a brilliant atmosphere in the barn.”
Favourite part of the day
“Our favourite part of the day was having our friends and families all together after such a long period of time being unable to do this. The venue was buzzing with excitement, conversation and laughter all day which was amazing to see. We also loved the speeches as it was so lovely to see everyone together laughing, smiling and crying at the lovely words that were said.”
Wedding Planning Advice
“Our advice to anyone planning a wedding would be to enjoy it and not stress over small details. Take your time to consider what you really want before booking or buying things as it’s easy to get carried away in the moment. Finally, make sure you do what makes you happy so that you have the most amazing day!”
