Being lovers of travel, nature and the great outdoors, Amy and Luke were hoping for a natural and unique wedding aesthetic.
‘Luke and me would take long walks and go foraging for wildflowers to dry them out at home and use for our decorations. We liked the natural look that the barn gives, so we wanted to expand on that. Everything was handmade by us.’
Blank canvas appeal
They found the rustic beauty of Stennack Farm irresistible and loved the blank canvas appeal of our venue, ‘which didn’t need much adding to it, it’s naturally very pretty’.
‘We specifically liked the accommodation that came with the barn, it was great to have so many rooms available for family and to have everyone together. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the décor was nice for the photos. We really liked the idea of feeling like we were in our own bubble away from everyone else and not confined to a room or hotel. This was a winner for us!’
Wonderful wedding suppliers
Amy’s gorgeous wedding dress was from WED2B in Bournemouth.
‘My dress originally had long sleeves and lace up the neck, but the lovely Jan Wardle Designs did all the alterations and made it strapless for me.’
Karen Fenner was in charge of all the bridal makeup for Amy and her bridesmaids.
‘She was fantastic! She was such a lovely addition to the morning when we were getting ready. She deserves a massive shout out.’
The lovely Sadie Jill was welcomed to Stennack Farm for her first time shooting here.
‘Sadie was amazing … Her photos are beautiful and so authentic.’
Amy and Luke plumped for a relaxed vibe with their chosen wedding food and the whole day had a fun, casual atmosphere, in part due to their catering choices.
‘We went with food vans on the day: pizza, crepes, hog roast – and my lovely sister Emma made the 4-tier cake for us!’
‘We can’t pick just one part of the day that was our favourite. We loved every minute of it. Just to have our entire family all together in a beautiful setting was perfect! We wouldn’t change a thing!’
There’s a choice of outside areas at Stennack Farm, with room enough for any kind of fun activity or entertainment for your wedding guests, and Amy and Luke loved this potential and space for their summer wedding.
‘We were provided with a great space to be able to have all the extras we wanted, including the garden games, photo booth and sparkler aisle.’
Irish jigs
Amy and Luke’s evening music was family friend Dennis with a DJ set and then the amazing Irish band Black Velvet, who got everyone up for a jig on the dancefloor – the lively, foot-tapping atmosphere was incredible and very hard not to dance along with!
